What Counts as a LinkedIn Profile View?
LinkedIn profile views and post impressions are separate metrics. Learn what each counts and how to match a service to the result you want.

How are LinkedIn profile views different from post impressions?
Profile views measure visits to your profile. Post impressions measure how many times a post was shown on screens.
LinkedIn's post analytics page defines impressions as the number of times a post was shown on LinkedIn. It defines "Profile viewers from this post" as the distinct members who viewed the profile after seeing that post.
These are tracked separately. One person can generate multiple post impressions without ever clicking through to the profile.
What counts toward LinkedIn profile views?
Profile views count when a signed-in member opens your profile.
LinkedIn's help page on profile appearances and profile views explains the difference:
- Profile appearances: times your name and headline show in search, posts, comments, or recommendations.
- Profile views: actual visits to the full profile page.
Only the latter registers as a profile view. Appearances in feeds or search do not automatically count as views.
Read the official pages: Post analytics and profile appearances vs views.
Does ordering LinkedIn profile views increase post impressions?
No. A profile view service targets profile visits. A post impressions service targets how often a post appears on screens.
If your goal is more people seeing a specific post, choose an impressions service for that post's link. If your goal is more visits to the profile itself, choose a profile views service for the profile link.
Check the exact service listing and the link format it accepts before ordering.
What should you check before ordering LinkedIn services?
Match the service to the metric and the correct link type.
- Confirm whether the listing is for profile views, post impressions, connections, or followers.
- Use the public link for the exact profile or post.
- Read the delivery notes and any refill terms on that listing.
- Keep the order code and use the track page if needed.
The site's FAQ says targets must stay public until the order completes and that no password is required.
