FAQ · Honest answers

Frequently asked questions.

Real questions we've been asked. Real answers.

Is this the real Krishna / Gandhi / Chanakya?

No. None of the AI personalities on Indiagram Conversations are the real person. They're AI representations grounded in those figures' actual writings (or, for figures like Krishna*, in scriptural translations). That's why some names carry an asterisk. More about the asterisk here.

Where does the AI get its information?

From public-domain texts. We hand-curate passages from the actual writings — Arthashastra, Meditations, Art of War, Analects, Tao Te Ching, and so on. Each response cites its source. More on how it works.

Why do some names have asterisks?

To signal that we're representing a deity or divinely-associated figure, not channeling them. The asterisk is the smallest honest gesture we can make. Long version here.

Can I save my chats?

They're saved automatically to an anonymous session token (a cookie on your device) for 90 days. There are no accounts, no logins, no email required.

Why is there no account system?

Because we don't need it. The product works without one, you don't have to trust us with your email or password, and we have less data to protect. Less is more.

Is my data private?

Yes. We don't collect your name, email, or phone unless you give it to us explicitly (e.g., on the notify-me or contact forms). Your chats are tied to an anonymous cookie token. Full privacy policy.

Can I suggest a new personality?

Yes. Visit the Request a Voice page. We read every request and prioritize based on demand, available source material, and legal considerations.

How can I request a takedown?

The Takedown page has a form. We respond within seven working days at info@indiagram.in. We take this seriously.

Is this paid? Why ads?

The site is free. Ads (Google AdSense) pay for hosting, AI costs, and development. We don't sell your data and don't have premium tiers.

Can I trust the responses?

Trust them as you'd trust a paraphrase of a book — useful and grounded, but always worth verifying. That's why we cite our sources on every response. If a citation feels off, click it and read the source. We're not infallible.

What if the AI says something wrong?

It can happen. AI hallucinations are real, even with curated source material. If you spot something clearly wrong, please let us know with the chat link and the source it cited.

Who built this?

A small team out of Pune, India. More on the about page.

Can I use the responses in my own work?

The source texts are public-domain — you can quote them freely. The AI-generated responses are AI-generated, which has unclear copyright status in many jurisdictions. For attribution, we'd appreciate a link back to indiagram.in if you use a response in published work.

Is this approved by any religious authority?

No. We're not affiliated with any temple, ashram, faith tradition, or spiritual community. We make this clear throughout the site, especially on the asterisk page.

What languages does it support?

English at launch. We'd love to add Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and other Indian languages — and major world languages — over time. The infrastructure supports it; the curation work is the bottleneck.

How do I contact you?

Email info@indiagram.in or use the contact form. We read everything.
