The 30 second version

Followers come from people who find you, like what they see and decide to stay. Every step below helps one of those three things.

  • Make sure Instagram can recommend you at all: public account, clean Account Status, original posts.
  • Write a profile that converts a visit into a follow in two seconds.
  • Make content people watch to the end and send to a friend. Those are the signals Instagram has named.
  • Use the free tools you already have: Trial Reels, Collab posts and Insights.
  • A paid follower pack changes the starting number on your profile. It does not make content better, so do it last, not first.

Step 1: make sure Instagram can recommend you

New followers mostly come from people who do not follow you yet, through Reels, Explore and Search. If your account cannot be recommended, none of that happens. Check three things first:

  1. Your account is public. Posts from private accounts are not recommended to people who do not follow you.
  2. Account Status is clear. Open Settings, then Account Status. It shows removed content and whether your account can currently be recommended to non followers. If something is listed, you can request a review there.
  3. Your posts are your own. In 2024 Instagram said it would favour original content in recommendations, show the original when it finds copies, and take accounts that keep reposting other people's content out of recommendations. Reposted clips with another app's watermark are also shown less.

Switch to a free professional account (Creator or Business) in Settings while you are there. It unlocks Insights and Trial Reels, which you will use below.

Step 2: a profile that turns visits into follows

Someone taps your name after a good Reel. You have about two seconds to answer "why should I follow?"

Profile part What to do
Name field Add what you do next to your name, for example "Riya, Home Baker Pune". Instagram search matches the text in names, usernames and bios, so this also helps people find you.
Bio One line on what people get from following: recipes every Friday, styling tips, offers in your city.
Highlights Three or four covers that answer the first questions: menu or price list, reviews from customers, how to order.
Pinned posts Pin your best performing Reel and a post that explains who you are.
Link One clear link: your shop, WhatsApp business number or booking page.

If you sell locally, say the city. People in India search by place all the time.

Step 3: make content people watch and send

Instagram's head, Adam Mosseri, has named three numbers to watch in Insights: watch time, likes per reach and sends per reach. He said sends matter slightly more for reaching people who do not follow you. We covered the details in what the Instagram algorithm really ranks.

What that means for an Indian creator or shop:

  • Open with the payoff. Show the finished dish, the before and after, or the answer in the first second.
  • Speak the language your audience speaks. Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali or Hinglish captions and voiceovers often feel more personal than formal English.
  • Make it worth sending. "Tag the friend who does this", a useful checklist, a local tip, a festival idea. A Reel people forward is built for discovery.
  • Post on a rhythm you can keep. Two good Reels a week for three months beats twenty rushed ones in a week and then silence.
  • Use at most five specific hashtags. That is the limit since December 2025, and Instagram says hashtags help search more than reach.

Step 4: the free tools most accounts ignore

Trial Reels. Professional accounts can share a Reel as a trial, which is shown first to people who do not follow you. You see how it performs before your followers see it, and you can then share it to your profile. It is a free way to test hooks and topics on new audiences.

Collab posts. Invite another account as a collaborator and the post appears on both profiles, with the views and likes shared. A Collab with a creator or business in your city puts you in front of their followers.

Insights. In your professional dashboard, check which Reels brought follows, not just views, and look at the hours when your followers are usually online. Make more of what brought follows.

Stories and replies. Polls, questions and quick replies to comments keep the people who just followed you coming back, which is what turns a follow into a customer.

Step 5: where a follower pack fits

Be clear about what a paid pack is. It raises the follower number shown on your profile. It does not create watch time, sends or customers, and no one can honestly promise reach from it. Instagram's Community Guidelines also ask people not to artificially collect likes, followers or shares, so read them and decide for yourself.

Where some accounts still choose one:

  • A new business page that does not want to open at zero on launch day.
  • A creator relaunching a profile alongside a steady content plan from steps 1 to 4.

If you do, keep it simple and safe:

  1. Use a public account and give only your username or profile link. Never share your password with any service.
  2. Start small, and pick a listing that shows refill and its period. Our guide on what a follower refill means explains the terms.
  3. Keep posting. A bigger number with no new content still looks like an empty shop.

Indiagram's Instagram followers page sells packs from 100 to 10,000 with refill included and UPI payment, no password needed. You can also start with a free Instagram followers trial first.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to grow followers on Instagram? There is no fixed time. Accounts that post original Reels on a steady rhythm and reply to people usually see growth over months, not days.

Does a private account get recommended? No. Posts from private accounts are not recommended to people who do not follow you, so growth from Reels and Explore needs a public account.

What should I post to get more followers? Content people watch to the end and send to friends: useful tips, local ideas, before and after, honest behind the scenes. Check Insights to see which posts brought follows.

Do hashtags still help? A little, for search. You can use at most five per post, so choose specific ones over generic tags.

Is it safe to buy Instagram followers? Never give anyone your password, use a public account, and read Instagram's Community Guidelines. A pack changes the number on your profile, not your reach, so it only makes sense next to a steady content plan.

Where can I see Indiagram's follower packs? On the Instagram followers page, with prices shown before you pay and an order code to track delivery.
