Story views count how many accounts opened a Story. Only you can see the full viewer list: swipe up on your own Story and you will see the eye icon with the number and the names. Your followers do not see the count, but many people check it to judge whether their Stories are being watched at all.

Because a Story disappears after 24 hours unless you save it to a Highlight, a Story view order only makes sense on a Story that is live right now. Views on Highlights are counted separately and behave differently, so this page is for fresh Stories.

Keep the account public until the count settles. A private account blocks delivery, because the views can only reach a Story that anyone can open.

Getting more people to watch your Stories

Story viewers are mostly your existing followers, so the best lever is giving them a reason to tap. Open with something worth seeing in the first frame. Use the poll, quiz, question box and slider stickers, because a quick tap is easy for viewers and it starts a conversation in your DMs.

Post a few Stories a day rather than twenty in one go, since long chains make people skip. Share your new Reels and posts to Stories, mention collaborators so they reshare, and turn your best Stories into Highlights so new profile visitors can watch them later.

When a paid Story views pack helps

If you run regular Story promotions, launches or countdowns, the paid packs further down are larger and paid by UPI QR. They work best timed with a Story you care about, such as a sale announcement. Remember that views only change the number on your viewer list. They do not replace interesting Stories, and nobody can promise replies or sales from them.
