The thumbs up count under a YouTube video is a quick signal that viewers enjoyed it. On this page you can try 10 free YouTube likes on any public video or Short, using just the link.

On a long video, the like button sits under the player, next to the dislike button and Share. The like count is public, while the dislike count is only visible to the creator in YouTube Studio. On a Short, the like button is on the right side of the screen while it plays.

Likes on a Short and likes on a long video are counted on that one upload only. If you post a Short that points to a full video, each one has its own like count, so choose the link you want to support.

Timing and what to watch for

Likes are sent as soon as you claim and normally start within minutes. Keep the video public until they are delivered. If you set it to private, schedule it or delete it, the order cannot complete.

YouTube checks likes and can remove some later, so the count can settle after delivery. The Refill trial can be topped up within its refill period; the other two have no refill. Comments being turned off does not affect likes.

How to earn more likes on YouTube

People like a video when it gives them what the title promised. Make the first thirty seconds match the thumbnail and title, then deliver the answer or the story without filler. Ask for a like at a natural moment, for example right after a useful tip, rather than only at the end.

For Shorts, a loop that brings the viewer back to the start works well, and so does a clear text hook in the first frame. Reply to early comments and pin a good one. Add chapters to long videos so viewers can find the part they need.

Community posts and Shorts that tease a full video can bring your regular viewers back to it, and regular viewers are often the first to like a new upload. Keep a steady upload day so they know when to look.
